Former HR Advocate
Helped SID introduce college students to senior advocacy and establish
the early foundation of its College Advocates initiative.
"Although I felt a little unsure about how different recruiting
in the United States might feel, the students welcomed
every conversation with interest and reminded me how easily
a shared mission can connect people from different places."
Applying Global HR Experience
Simi brought more than 10 years of human resources experience from India’s technology industry to SID. She applied her knowledge of recruitment, candidate communication, interviews, and onboarding to help the organization develop a more organized approach to welcoming prospective College Advocates.
Building the Recruitment Process
SID needed a clear way to move students from initial interest to active participation.
Simi helped shape outreach messages, explain available roles, gather candidate information, coordinate conversations, and introduce selected students to
the organization’s expectations.
Reaching More Than 100 Students
Working remotely never limited her reach. Through online outreach, video calls, and individual conversations, Simi connected SID with more than 100 college students and introduced them to the value of using their education and skills to support older adults.
Continuing the Work
Simi has since concluded her time with SID, but the recruitment foundation she helped establish remains. SID now seeks its next HR Advocate to strengthen onboarding,
support advocate development, and continue growing the College Advocates initiative.
