Responsibilities
Research issues affecting seniors, families, and caregivers
Gather facts about how care, mistreatment, fraud, housing, and health impacts seniors' quality of life
Find local, state, and national programs serving older adults
Review laws, public policies, reports, and senior protection standards
Track developments affecting seniors or the services they receive
Compare information from trusted sources and confirm its accuracy
Turn complex findings into clear and simple summaries
Provide research for website pages, educational materials, reports, etc.
Maintain organized notes, links, citations, and source records
Identify missing information that needs further review
Support case research without providing legal or medical advice
Protect private information reviewed during research
Qualifications
Experience in research, aging services, senior advocacy, healthcare, public policy, social services, or a related field
Strong online research and fact-checking skills
Ability to identify reliable sources and separate facts from opinions
Clear writing English skills with the ability to explain complex information in plain language
Strong organization and attention to detail
Comfortable reviewing gov't reports, studies, laws, and public records
Ability to record sources and citations correctly
Sound judgment when handling private or sensitive information
Ability to work independently and meet assigned deadlines
Commitment to improving the lives of seniors and their families
