The Child Development Program in Kenya is a holistic initiative aimed at improving the well-being, growth, and potential of children in both urban and rural
Cancelling Membership
A Senior Member may request cancellation through:
By logging into their member account: seniorsindistress.org/login
SID Membership phone: (954) 391-5676
SID Membership Email: cancel@seniorsindistress.org
We may verify the identity or authority of the person requesting cancellation.
When Cancellation Takes Effect
Unless different terms were disclosed for the membership plan, cancellation stops the next renewal.
The Senior Member may continue using membership benefits
through the end of the period already paid for.
Once cancellation takes effect, future recurring membership
charges will stop.
Family Members & Caregiver Members
Family Members and Caregiver Members do not pay a separate membership fee and may end their own participation at any time.
Removing a Family Member or Caregiver Member does not cancel the Senior Member's membership.
A Family Member or Caregiver Member generally cannot cancel a capable
Senior Member's membership without authorization.
Couples
When two seniors have separate memberships, each membership is treated separately.
One spouse or partner does not automatically have authority to cancel
the other person's membership.
If a couple participates under a specific shared plan, the cancellation terms provided with that plan will apply.
Refunds
Membership fees provide access to advocacy services during the membership period.
Once a membership period begins, fees are generally non-refundable,
except when required by law or when we determine that a refund or adjustment is appropriate.
A refund or account adjustment may be considered for:
Duplicate payments
Incorrect charges
Billing errors
A paid service that was not provided
Other circumstances we determine warrant an adjustment
When Refunds Generally Not Provided
A refund is generally not provided simply because:
The member did not use available services
The member changed their mind
An advocacy matter took longer than expected
A third party refused or denied a request
The member disagreed with an Advocate
Advocacy did not produce the result the member wanted
Mistreatment or alleged: neglect, abuse or fraud reported to authorities
Advocacy services do not guarantee outcomes.
Requesting a Refund
Refund requests should include the Senior Member's name, the charge
in question, the reason for the request, and any supporting information.
Requests may be submitted to:
Billing Email: refund@seniorsindistress.org
Approved refunds will generally be returned to the original payment method when reasonably possible.
When We End Membership
Seniors in Distress may restrict, suspend, or terminate membership as provided in our Terms of Membership and Membership Code of Conduct.
Termination by Seniors in Distress does not automatically create
a right to a refund.
Any refund decision will consider the circumstances, amounts paid, services already provided, and applicable law.
Questions About Billing or Cancellation
We encourage members to contact us when they believe a charge is incorrect or need help canceling.

Changes to This Policy
Seniors in Distress reserves the right to change, modify, update, replace, or discontinue this policy as our services, operations, or legal requirements change.
Material changes will be communicated when required or appropriate. The current version posted on our website, together with its Last Updated date, will apply from its stated effective date.
Early Childhood Development (ECD)
At the heart of the program is Early Childhood Development, targeting children between the ages of 0 to 5 years. It focuses on foundational brain development, emotional nurturing, and early learning.
Through community-based ECD centers, children receive age-appropriate stimulation, structured play, balanced meals, and regular health checks. Parents are also trained in responsive caregiving and positive parenting practices.
Education Access
The program ensures that school-age children have access to quality education by providing school fees subsidies, uniforms, learning materials, and mentorship. Special emphasis is placed on girl-child education and children with disabilities. School retention campaigns and after-school tutoring help improve literacy and numeracy, while partnerships with local schools enhance teaching quality and infrastructure.
Nutrition & Health
Nutrition is a cornerstone of the program, with consistent feeding schemes established in ECD centers and primary schools. Malnutrition screenings are conducted regularly, followed by treatment and dietary supplementation where necessary. Health outreach efforts include immunizations, deworming, vitamin A distribution, and access to clean water and sanitation facilities.
